Very enjoyable evening, fine company, the usual excellent food and great port. Thank you everyone.

And the theme produced many ports that would rarely be tasted - I was tasting seven of these ports for the first time. Congratulations to Dave for a storming 5 points in the guessing game. The monkey guessed W86 LBV and got zero points!

WOTN was the Rs60 from Charles, very closely followed by CaF87 and the Sandeman 1972 LBV.

Excellent evening, theme and company. Thanks. All the ports were very enjoyable, and they were really able to shine when not in the shadow of any top VPs.

Nice to finally get the better of the monkey with a couple of lucky guesses, but I'm sure it will be back to its winning ways next time.

Mike thank you very much for initiating and making arrangements for this tasting. It was great fun with great company as always. :)
This was quite an eclectic flight indeed. I always wondered how an LBV would show after a few years and it was delcious. I definitely learnt a lot, especially for the wine of the night which had a Sandeman 1960 label but was a Quinta de la rosa in disguise! And coincidentally a later version of this Quinta, a 1992 de la rosa, was revealed at the end which made for a nice comparison. Alas I got no points from guessing but I learnt that the Monkey wins pretty much every time apart from this one when Dave’s star rose to fame which was pretty cool. Cheers everyone, thanks again.
