Absolutely astonishing tasting set up by Dominic Symington. Horizontals of Symingtons Ports from 1970 and 2007 but the killer was the inclusion of component parts for the majority of the 2007s and we were completely blown away. Dominic came in and stayed with us for a while chatting enthusiastically about everything before heading off to the Regatta where he was sailing the Warre's boat. First time that I've met him and what a great guy he is.

For the rest of the afternoon we were guided by Gustavo who has joined us on the Port Forum. Gustavo gave up a free afternoon to come and play with us and we thank him wholeheartedly - another fabulous guy and I hope he posts tons.

This was a fabulous visit and tasting and an excellent demonstration of how to out-geek a group of geeks

The look of astonishment on the faces of the entire group when we entered the tasting room was something to behold. Tasting the components of each of the 2007 wines was extremely challenging but very educational. A big thanks goes to Dominic Symington and Gustavo for laying on such a fantastic visit.
