Candidate number 1 is extremely persistent.

Candidate number 3 is young and well rounded, but will probably do better at the next election.

Please confirm that this is the constituency overseen by this returning officer, and using these ballot papers.

A late candidate has just arrived, fortunately before the polls close at 10pm.

Candidate number 4 clearly lacks experience, but is expressing potential for the future.

Candidate number 2 has been described as "not repulsive enough to represent the Worker's Revolutionary Party, but is eccentric enough to be the Monster Raving Loony" of these wines.

Votes have been counted. Wine number 1 has been declared the representative for The Crusting Pipe by a majority of 4 votes.

The candidates have now revealed their true nature. The electorate guessed them to be:

Wine 1 - unknown shipper from '92; T70; F70 - was actually W70
Wine 2 - Ck64, Ck64, Mz55 - was actually T35
Wine 3 - G83, W83, W83 - was actually D83
Wine 4 - Roeda 97, Pocas 05, Vau 05 - was actually Roeda 97

That’s unusually good estimating: or were the clues particularly helpful? (And which is ‟Ck”? If Cockburn, the standard abbreviation is plain ‟C”.)

Meanwhile, the BBC reports that the choice of the electorate is not to choose. Or maybe the Blues. Or maybe a re-taste later.

There were no clues, so this was extraordinarily good estimating.

Ck does represent Cockburn. Ck is the standard abbreviation for Cockburn in electoral returns.

The majority view of the electorate participating in today's election is that a forced re-election in a few weeks time would be a good thing.

It was a decisive result. Though i am now humbly sipping a sample of T35 on the Thames Clipper with a view of Big Ben striking midnight. :)

Did any of the electorate attempt to vote after 22:00? And, if so, were they refused the right to vote?

If either of the above questions result in a "Yes" or a "No" then I object and demand a second ballot.

Derek

Note: Rule 45g(iiv) states that "Second ballots where Taylor 1935 was a candidate in the first ballot must include the same candidate in the second ballot and DRT and JDAW must be allowed the opportunity to be present and allowed to vote."

The Presiding Officer and Returning Officer have consulted the electoral commission and, taking into account all relevant facts, have concluded that the question is frivolous and therefore does not require an answer.

T35 on the Thames Clipper beats my glass of W70 on a roof terrace in Marylebone.

JDAW: Head for Marylebone - I'm chasing the Clipper in a canoe!

Early news reports on the candidates are now being received, as follows:

Warre 1970
Decanted for 7.5 hours. Mature red in colour, clearly comfortably middle aged. Lovely warm nose, full of spicy redcurrants and cinnamon. Delightful entry, very balanced. Some aggression from a combination of acid, tannin and alcohol. Fabulous fruit on the palate, very impressive. Tannins are dry, but quite firm and sit comfortable within the multitude of layers. Very spicy. Long, rich and sweet Christmas cake and mulled wine finish. Tremendous - a superb wine. 92/100.

JDAW now in Marylebone. Reserve bottle of T35 brought in case first was corked now being decanted.

Have left behind the canoe languishing in wake and Diesel smoke.

Comparing the T35 to Andresen Colheita '82 (Bottled in 09). Appearance almost identical - the Taylor slightly darker in the centre. Both different but have the tawny style - I have to say the colheita does have the fuller and better balance (for my liking), but, like this evening, it's marginal. Both fantastic.

If only politics was not the opposite!

Please do create them, anything which saves me time and effort is appreciated. Please also feel free to copy the already posted W70 note.

I'm willing to bet that the sitting candidate dropped off to sleep just as the Returning Officer was about to announce the result
