That was a Taylor 10y old (bottled in 91) and was refused by me to airtravel this home. Very bad though. Came in a mixed lot from Tom. Not even the barkeepers of the hotel did like it.

Done. 1. Please check. 2. Please ask somebody who knows to send the name of the Burgundy, and then the task can be finished.

1. Checked. All good.
2. Tom, Wolfgang, Alex or Rob - did you note the name of the Burgundy?

I know nothing about Burgundy - I didn't note who the producer was.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

The Burgundy was Clos de Vougeot 1911 - it showed well for about half an hour, about half an hour after decanting.

Dirk provided us with a masterclass in extracting old decayed corks - only a tiny fragment fell into the wine, yet the cork left on the table was in tiny pieces..

It seems that none of the bottles were The Unknown Shipper. And even most of his friends were old rather than peculiar.

Many were unknown until the cork was revealed. Niepoort V.V. and the Boal were peculiar. The rules were obeyed.

Indeed. My unknown "believed" 1935 "possibly" Taylor turned out to be a Cockburn 60. :( Albeit an extremely good Cockburn 60 that managed a couple of points in the WOTN voting. :)

At least 6 or 7 of the VPs were only known once the bottles had been smashed and corks revealed.

I’ve had these things go older, and I’ve had these things go younger. Such is life.
