1985 Chateau Bourgneuf

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Pomerol.

Sweet fruit on the nose, with farmyard dirt over the fruit. Lovely sweet fruit on the palate, wonderful texture and density of fruit. A delicious finish. This is really nice mature claret. 92/100. Drunk 28-Dec-13 at this dinner.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Indeed Pomerol! I am a big fan of old Pomerols! Despite some think Merlot is boring it actually is not in the right location. Not agreeing on the mature Claret yet.  Just about becoming ready to drink! This is still a youngster for my likeing!
