Congrats!

You must be very pleased - and to be honest, I was most impressed you were allowed to the rugby on saturday, so you haven't done too badly...

All the medical inducement could not induce him to arrive as planned, and originally started some 40 hours earlier! A swift an unplanned trip to the operating theatre dealt with that.

My proudest moment - I managed not to feint in the operating theatre!
Ecellent news - congratulations to both of you!

Congrats to you both - all three of you now! Gone are the days of being able to drink port. Now you have to be able to drag yourself out of bed at mindless o'clock to see to the baby's every need.

I do recall Elizabeth once coming into Michael's bedroom when he was very difficult to settle at a few months of age, to find out what I was saying to him that seemed to keep him very calm and quite - I was reading to him from a collection of John Arlott's writings on wine! I've still got the book if you need to borrow it!

I am very pleased to announce the birth of Zachary Charles Doggett on September 25th 2016. Weighing a healthy 9lbs, he and his mother Rosie are home healthy and safe, and the world is once again a beautiful & wonderful place. A Noval 40yo tawny was drunk to celebrate the birth... And I look forward to raising many more glasses.

Huge apologies that I have not been in touch for a few months, but I hope to be at a tasting to celebrate soon.

All the best,

Simon

Thank you to all for the kind messages and also for a toast of F70...I shall have to get Zac a bottle to understand and appreciate the quality of the toast!
We are both very honoured and doff our caps.

Any suggestions as to which Port House should be his first allegiance? (Posts or PM's gratefully received with arguments for  )

Thank you.
I have so far 5 grandchildren, and they shall get a case of VP each on their 21st birthday.

2009 - girl Taylor's Vintage Port 2009 or Niepoort Bioma Vintage 2009. Any opinions which to choose? (I have actually bought both, and she will get the one members think best)
2011 - girl Taylor's Vintage Port 2011
2013 - boy Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port 2013
2015 - 2 girls ???, but too early yet.

Please advice.

If your 2009 granddaughter turns out to be reserved and traditional then the Taylor seems fitting. If she turns out to be of a quirky, off-the-wall and risk-taking nature then the Bioma might be the answer
