I attended my 1st match on friday .
Montreal Impact v.s. Portland Thunder . ( Don't laugh !! )
Montreal had 3 exhibition matches against Italian division 2 teams ( 3 wins) .
I found many similarities between hockey and soccer in that game .
Although Montreal lost 1-0 , they had 3 corners in the 1st half , hit the cross bar once , had several other scoring chances and then in the 44th minute , Montreal made their only mistake and Portland scored .
And then , to make matters worse , Montreal scored in injury time ( 93rd min ) , only to have the goal refused because the forward was offside !!
My better half was yelling for joy until I mentionned the offside . She sat down . . .
I'll stop now , before I bore you guys to tears . . .
