Murali's action has been shown to be clean.

Steve Bucknor made one of the worst decisions I have ever seen by an umpire by calling Monty Panesar out when he clearly was not. Little was made of this becasue Monty was batting at Number 11 and everybody fancied a break except Monty. The law on a catch is quite clear - it must come directly from bat or glove and certainly not from the middle of the pad. Where were the pedants and the bouts of righteous indignation then?

Sorry - I was studying and managed to resist temptation at that point. Strange how that moment does not feature in the highlights!

In other circumstances I would happily have debated the point!

No. All the events being referred to in this thread occurred in Europe in 2008. How could we be off-topic?
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I was just checking as some of this rounders incidents happened in other years and possibly on other continents.

I assume 'rounders' is a derogatory reference to cricket. In which case, the Month incident was but a few weeks ago in England - "Europe in 2008".

The Darrell Hair / Pakistan incident was at the Oval, admitedly in 2006 - but discussed by us in 2008. Tenuous? Maybe!

Do you think we may have found are Rules are Rules Man, rather than the Spirit of the Law???

Of Course Ben completely agrees, we just need to address the Rule Makers???

Derogatory? No. Think of it as the Scottish equivalent of Americans talking about Soccer

I think this means that we were approximately 21% off-topic, which doesn't seem too bad.

I will give her the benefit of the doubt and try to avoid thinking of you as Ben MacRead

What about those Netherlanders!!! To dispose of Italy and France so clinically is stunning. I hope they keep it together mentally and don't suffer from the unrest within the squad that has tripped them up in the past.

Didn't see the match yesterday, but I did manage to follow bits and pieces on the radio (that is to say, the radio was on all the time, but only bits and pieces came through...) An amazing result, and I must say that I didn't expect it. If the Dutch keep their game up, this could become a very interesting tournament! 88)

They are excellent going forward. They are getting the breaks at the moment, but someone has to! Why they aren't playing Robben from the start instead of that clown Kuyt is beyond me as well.

The only thing is, I suspect it will come to a crashing end in the semi's. Hope I'm wrong. I'll get the hankey's ready, just in case. :)

I'm currently sitting in an Irish pub, in France, working for a German company whilst supporting Portugal.

Am I getting the hang of this Euro 2008 thing?

Now you're just being silly.

However, the barman tells me that the stool I am sitting on came from Ikea...

Quite right!

And I've just remembered that my shirt was made in Italy.

And the bloke standing next to me is Scottish.

How many countries have I got left?
