Thats C for Chip Butty!
Thats C for Chip Butty!
This scenario sounds very familiar to me, apart from the bit when someone was kind enough to offer you some chip butties

It's not quite as bad..what is a chip butty ? And does it go well with peanut butter ?
Imagine two thick slices of over-processed white bread that have been liberally coated with margarine to create a sandwich (or 'butty' as them oop north do say...)
Betwixt these two greasy slabs is then arranged some chips (you probably call them fries) - which are usually crinkle cut types that have no potatoes in their ancestry.
Such chips are usually dripping with grease from the frier.
Attempts to consume this delicacy usually results in one or more chips descending onto the floor. Those who indulge are often of a persuasion that makes them broadly unconcerned about this..

I take that this is considered a delicacy . . .
Margarine is for girls and Southern Jessies. A real chip butty must contain real full-fat butter, as the name suggests.uncle tom wrote: two thick slices of over-processed white bread that have been liberally coated with margarine
I can't argue with the falling on the floor bit

When I last had a chip butty in Hull, there was no namby, pamby margarine or butter. The bread was "lubricated" with beef dripping and the chips were fried in beef dripping.
Needless to say, I took one look at the congealing mess and left Hull and have refused to travel North of the Thames ever since.
I still shudder as I think about that night...

PS - please admin, can we move this thread to meaningless drivel, it seems to have deteriorated a bit from Conky's first intention.
