Actually, just over nine months, beating our hopes of 1,000 per month in a considerably shorter period of time.
At this level we will acieve over 15,000 posts in our first year, which will be a pretty impressive tally. This is a small interest site with no budget - none for advertising, none for any kind of marketing, none for sales, thus none for income.
It is based on an interest in our given subject and the passion and enthusiasm shown by our members.
It is great to have new and enthusiastic posters to a site that was originally set up to keep just a few of us rambling to each other. Personally, I love our rambling nature and hope that it continues forever. It does not distract from the exceptional level of knowledge that resides within our midst, it just sets us apart. I love the daftness as much as I love the advice.
Thanks to everybody.

Port is basically a red drink
Absolutely!!
This is a great place to have fun and also a great place to find out about anything to do with the wonderfull world of Port. Or football, or punctuation, or jokes (well, maybe not jokes), or how to ramble on about nothing for hours on end.
Like KillerB, I love his daftness as much as I love AHB's advice

One of many things that I like about TPF is that we recognise that we are a niche forum of enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. As far as I am aware, no-one from the industry reads the site and certainly no-one from the industry posts here.
I don't think that detracts from TPF, because I think that our enthusiasm and love for port comes through all the more strongly through the very informal tone that we have.
Long may it continue!
