2005 Quinta do Noval Silval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red but no youth, opaque centre. Gentle nose with little fruit at first but the nose grows to reveal fragrant mulberry and lavender. Medium weight entry still with a little aggressive acidity but plenty of fruit. The acidity dominates slightly but the fruit is plentiful and generous, especially on the late palate where it is bright and vibrant. The aftertaste and finish are full of bitter blackcurrant tannins and have a great length. One to leave alone for at least 10 years. 88/100. 04-May-16
