1994 Quinta de la Rosa

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red with hints of brick on the narrow rim, opaque centre. Baked fruit nose, smelling of Douro bake, alcohol showing a little too much. Sweet black currant fruit on entry. Lively on the mid palate with a good tannic core and a lot of dense fruit. Delicious fruit driven aftertaste, long and fine finish full of black licorice and menthol heat. Overall this is a very odd port, unbalanced but with some excellent components. 87/100. 31-May-2016
