1977 Morgan

This was the port served at the Yeatman Sao Joao buffet dinner.

Mature brick red, looking slightly on the brown side in the weak light. A wonderful nose of sweet yet dusty glacé cherries. The alcohol protrudes slightly on the entry but quickly comes back into balance. The fruit and dry tannins meld perfectly to give a dry, slightly woody and wonderfully complex palate. The aftertaste is of cinnamon sticks and dried cherry and has a fine length. An excellent showing of a very more-ish port. 89/100. Drunk 23-Jun-2016.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
