1999 Ferreira Leda

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Quinta da Leda from Sogrape. Drunk in poor light but appeared to be deep red with some brick tones. Parma violets and icing sugar on the nose, soft and sweet. Smoothly textured with soft and sweet fruit dusted with icing sugar, full of candied raspberries. Soft tannins give structure and the whole has a nice balance with plenty of fruit. Delicious soft fruit finish with the violets and candied raspberry leading the flavours. A lovely and elegant style of port. 88/100. Drunk 08-Jun-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
