Drunk at the Yeatman after watching the Sao Joao fireworks. Deep cherry red with a hint of brick, wide rim and opaque centre. Fragrant black cherry juice on the nose, touched with a shade of vanilla. Gorgeous ripe fruit on the palate with lovely toasted tannins; mouthwatering acidity combines to give a great palate. Youthful and fruity, full of black cherry and chocolate this generates a tremendous aftertaste and a long dark chocolate finish. Still youthful and quite forceful this is a great bottle of the reliable port. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
