1966 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Tasted as part of a 1966 / 1970 double horizontal of Dow, Fonseca, Graham and Warre.

Decanted at 20.30 and smelt and tasted delicious, smelling and tasting of ripe and spiced (all spice and mace) dried fruit. When returning to the glasses after dinner at 23.00 this was showing TCA on nose and palate. Of the four shippers from this vintage, Fonseca was the darkest, Graham slightly lighter and Warre being darker than Dow. The latter three all being the colour of polished redwood with this wine being about 50% opaque. Not scored. 26-Jun-16. Decanted 2½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
