1970 Graham

Tasted as part of a 1966 / 1970 double horizontal of Dow, Fonseca, Graham and Warre.

Bottled by John Harvey & Sons of 12 Denmark Street, Bristol. Graham was the darkest of the four 1970 wines, followed by the Fonseca, Warre and Dow; 90% opaque. A lovely nose full of red licorice and rose petals, sweet with a light hint of VA. The slight VA shows on the palate at first but then the sweet and intense fruit sits on the tongue. A lovely palate with sweet and mature fruit with slight tannins.The soft tannins and sweet raspberry fruit on the aftertaste and the finish. Sweet and very Graham, but a shame about the VA. 89/100. 26-Jun-16. Decanted 3½ hours.
