1998 Fonseca Guimaraens vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red, opaque centre. Open and attractive nose of brambles and blueberries. Full bodied in the mouth with voluptuous fruit and soft tannins. Attractive development but a pretty clipped aftertaste. Served by the glass in a bar so this may have been open a little too long. 88/100. Drunk 11/2/08.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I found tha the 86 didn't handle being open long very well. I will test out with the 88 when I have an opportunity.
Port is basically a red drink
