1986 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Traditional unfiltered LBV, bottled 1990. Rich, deep red; mature and glowing with vitality. 50% opaque. Wonderful nose of concentrated raspberries zipped up with a hint of nutmeg. On the palate this is thick in texture and fruity in flavour. The mid-palate fills the mouth and reveals a structure based on some great acidity but still with some hints of tannins hiding shyly in the background. Lively on the late palate, the liveliness transfer to an explosive aftertaste full of fruit and all spice before a long and splendid finish takes hold. Very drinkable port in no danger of declining any time soon. 91/100. Opened 16-Sep-16
