Someone sitting where Ian sat this evening left a pair of spectacles behind. If the person in question would like to own up and take the ridicule they will receive from their fellow port lovers, I will return their glasses asap.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Superb evening, great ports, great company. Big thanks to Santa Tom and Santa Alex and all their elf helpers for organising and setting up. And good to meet Jörgen for the first time.

The Novals had both a consistency to them but also each one had some unique characteristic. The '55 was my WOTN followed by the '45. After that, any of '27, '31, '34, '47 or '66 could have easily been worthy of points from me. I wasn't so impressed with my first taste of N31 - on the night the '27 and '34 either side seemed better to me. Very interesting to experience how these ports differed with age. The "younger" '66 and '55 were characterised by sweetness, the '45 and '47 by dryness and the '27, '31, '34 showing slight hints of bitterness in the finish.

Hmm, you should have told me and I would have swapped your 31 for 45.

Thirteen Ports at least half a century old: we were spoilt.
