2014 Quinta do Vale Meao

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Purple colour. Subdued nose with a little harsh blackcurrant. Pure and pleasant fruit on the palate with a lovely swetness to the mid-palate. The tannins are subtle and the acidity well extracted. Pure fruit forms the core of this wine with the freshness and elegance becoming the hallmark of the vintage. Fresh black cherry aftertaste and a slow, sticky finish. This has more depth than many ports from this vintage. 92-94/100. Tasted 07-Nov-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
