1980 Dow

Deep red, showing some signs of early maturity, still 80% opaque. A wonderful nose with lots of fruit and perfume that has a slight smokiness to it. The smoky tone shows in the fruit on entry, filling the palate with slightly stewed fruit. The tannins are almost fully integrated but show as a touch of big black licorice. There is lots of bite on the long finish, which ends with a lovely green element. 90/100.

Drunk at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on The 24 Nov 2016.
