1980 Smith Woodhouse

Post by AHB » 14:26 Thu 05 Jan 2017

Darker than the Dow 1980 shown alongside. Deep red with an odd browning rim, 90% opaque. Little showing on the nose other than a little bruised cherry. A lovely texture and noticeable tannins give a dry edge to the palate. Spiced nutmeg fruit on the aftertaste and a lovely spiced fruit finish. Delicious. 91/100.

Drunk at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 24 Nov 2016.
Top Port in 2017 (so far): Graham Stone Terraces 2015 and Quinta do Vesuvio 1994
2016 Port of the year: Cockburn 1908
