NV Quinta do Infantado Tawny 10YO

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A half bottle behind the bar at the Horse & Groom pub-restaurant in Upper Oddington, Cotswolds.

Bronzed red in colour, 40% opaque. Distinct toffee apples on the nose, hard red toffee and a delicious smelling apple acidity. Burnt sugar on entry and through the mid-palate; lots of acidity amongst the burnt sugar. A very nice fragrance on the mid and late-palate. A nice mouthful, although the acidity burns on the aftertaste but allows a lovely nutty, toffee finish to take over and last very well. An impressive 10YO Tawny. 87/100. Drunk 29-Apr-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
