1927 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A magnum bottled by Justerini & Brooks and drunk at the Factory House on the occasion of The Port Forum's 10th Anniversary dinner.

Incredible depth of colour, dark and barely transparent in the candlelight. Powerful nose of black treacle and dates, a nose which really leaps out of the glass. Superb fruit right from the start on the palate with lots of bramble and sweet blackcurrant fruit. Incredibly youthful, even with some tannins on the palate. Big and lively on the aftertaste, full of fruit, which leads to an immense finish full of dark roasted coffee beans with stunning length. This is a truly amazing port. 99/100. 21-Jun-17. Decanted 3½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
