1963 Niepoort Colheita (bottled 1991)
Bottled 1991. Butterscotch colour with a yellow rim. Rather flat on the nose, only a little butterscotch. Surprisingly big on the palate with good acidity, flowers and treacle. Light and bouncy with a good clear focus. Gentle coffee and green apples on the aftertaste and a lingering honey finish. A delicate port, long but not loud. 88/100. 23-Jun-17.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
