1884 Ramos Pinto White Colheita

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A bottle drawn from the blending stocks in cask.

Almost identical in colour to the 1884 Tinto colheita shown alongside. Softer on the nose, more attractive and with gentler rancio. Thick in texture with lots of burnt sugar and massive levels of acidity; searing on the palate but not masking the great flavours. A hugely powerful aftertaste dominated by the acidity and even some tannnins. The finish drops fairly quickly to low level of lingering burnt sugar. Not Rated. 23-Jun-17. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
