Another deep crimson coloured wine. Fragrant on the nose with a perfume of green flowers rather than fruit. Soft fruit on the palate and a generous dose of tannins grow to give a wonderful melange of fruit on the mid-palate. The lingering finish is of the apricot fruit and is fabulous. This Port has a wonderful elegance. 90-92/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

VS17: Pineapple flavours, but quite dry. Dark plum behind. Bigger than mid-weight; very long.

C9: A somewhat muted nose with attractive hints of red and black fruits. Doesn’t show the concentration or depth to mark out as great but beautiful balance and mid weight. Could be deceptive of course if closed.
