T17: Grit, structure, and menthol notes — no surprise when revealed. Plum, with sharon fruit behind. Mid-weight: drink at 25.

C2: A more spirity nose with subtle fruit. Quite a powerful yet positively assertive palate. Grippy, tannic structure. Very ‘correct’, traditional style. Is this Taylors? (I suspect I noticed the distinctive bottle top 😉)

Beautiful nose. Iinitially raspberry compote, followed by wild red berries, dark forest fruit and defined aromas of violet, bell pepper, menthol and spice. Fresh and mouthwatering on the palate, this is full bodied but with a velvety mouthfeel. Layers upon layers of perfume, fruit and spice evolve and expand throughout the very long finish. A well-crafted port; powerful yet so elegant. 18.5/20
