Opened 1640 and decanted 1940 on 08/12/19. Red rather than dark, very heavy loose sediment, seems in fine fettle.

Ni91. Dark red, 35% opaque. Dry then sweet, light, hint cantaloupe melon, very long. Liked.

Very pale red. No nose noted. Light sweet fruit. Quite pleasant, and developed in glass, so possibly needed a longer decant.

Fairly pale with a clean but muted nose. Better in the mouth with some pleasant fruit but maybe too acidic.

A pleasant surprise for me given what else happened here in the 90s. Soft nose and thankfully devoid of any obvious va. Mid colour. Mid intensity on the nose. Ready. Sweet entry. Mid depth and balance. A good port that for the 91 vintage puts it in the upper bracket for me. My vote for 3rd.
