1985 Osborne

Post by RonnieRoots »

Tasted around Christmas 2004:
Pretty light ruby coloured with some brown bricking. Going to orange/pink at the rim. A strikingly dry nose, with some alcohol, leather, dried black currant, tobacco.
Still enough fruit in the taste, strawberries and some blackberries. Light bodied. Quite hot on the midpalate. It develops in the mouth, showing that there is still life in this port. Dry finish, very fruity with some red pepper. Interesting to have tasted this. Due to it's light body I didn't guess this to be an '85, and although it is clearly to lightweighted for the vintage, it is drinking nicely. If you have this in the cellar: drink up. 85 points.
