2016 Taylor

From half. Popped and poured and consumed over 90 minutes (which was probably unfair to it).

Deep crimson, 95% opaque.

Heady nose of eau de vie de poire william. Summer pudding on the front palate, what I can only describe as a 'pink medicine' taste on the mid-palate. Vast lumps of fierce tannins then crash onto the palate which, together with the heat, completely obscures the fruit on the mid palate and the finish for the first hour. Thereafter, showing a bit fruitier, but still a tannic monster.

I can see that this might be fine port in 25 years. But I am going to leave it alone until then.

Consumed 23/7/20 (with co-taster).
