1977 Niepoort

Post by jdaw1 »

1977 Niepoort: the palest, really quite brown and translucent. The nose best described by Anthony Heading as “syrupy†, then as “rum and raison ice cream†. Very light in the mouth, with a little heat in the back of the mouth, though with some oil. The ‘oldest’ of these ports, by a long margin. Score 4-2.

JL: “it is a little light†, “the length on it is not where I like it to be†, “lacks length†, “cleaner than the Cachão†, “higher-toned fruit than the Cachão†.

Jay remarked on the badge that is “a darling attachment†.
