Not opened, but stood up for sediment settling.

Signs of seepage tho =(

fill is low neck.

cork tore in half.

opened and decanted 2:30pm EST

very light reddish/ruby color with some brown.

Smells of Black tea and plums. Very light nose.
Spicy tussin fruit. Cloyingly sweet. Bitter Rough finish that does not go down easily but does coat the throat.

There's a tinge of some strange flavor I can't pick out, it's not corked or shows any traces of VA.

Let's see how this does in 4 hours time.

1977 Dow

Post by jdaw1 »

1977 Dow: Very dark red: a joy to behold. Initial taste very rich, fruit and oil. Thinner in mid-palate, but great length, rich and smooth. DifferentDave correctly found coffee. Most of us described this port with texture words rather than flavour words. Needs longer in the cellar: 8-9.
