1983 Offley

Post by winesecretary »

1983 Offley Boa Vista
Opened 6/11/21 and consumed over that night and the night following (the second half having been stored in screw top half in the 'fridge).

Note taken on 7/11/21

85% opaque. Black cherry nose, quite sweet. Cherry bakewell tart on the palate, you can taste the almonds. Agen prunes starting to appear on the finish.

Again, admirable port. Ready now, but will keep.

I'm glad to see this review. I just bought a case of it a few weeks ago and I'm looking forward to trying one when it arrives.

I've also got a case of this, of which this was bottle 2, and I am planning to drink one about every 9 months until it runs out. I am very pleased by that prospect, and you should be too.
