Bottle opened at 22.45 the night before the tasting to Audouze gently overnight. Despite the appearance of the cork, this is an original cork in this bottle which was purchased from Oddbins Fine Wine shop under Holborn Viaduct in February 1997.

The neck of the bottle had to be warmed gently in the steam from a kettle for a minute or so to facilitate the easy removal of the cork.

Lovely nose.

Lovely palate, rich and ripe and full of blueberries.

Warm on the finish, but it's an attractive warmth. My #2, the group's #4.

65% opacity, deep rich red. Redcurrant nose. Big, rich and full, tannins showing, soft & rounded. Redcurrant, soft spiciness in the finish. Liked this.

Summer fruits with slight earthy, leady notes. Short lived.

Opened at 22.45 the night before the tasting. Decanted at 08.45 and returned to the bottle at 14.15 before being tasted at 21.00. Mature red colour with hints of bricking; 90% opaque. Little showing on the nose, very closed; vigorous swirling produces some sweet candied cherry. The wine has a wonderful texture on the palate with perfumed candied cherry showing on entry before the wonderful Warre elegance takes over. The wine has a delicious perfume to the dark cherry fruit. Gentle toasted tannins combine to make a wonderful mouthful of Port. Beautiful smooth milk chocolate and nutmeg finish. Really good. 93/100. 16-Nov-21. Decanted 12 hours.
