NV Ramos Pinto Ruby (Collector Reserve)

Post by g-man »

Unfiltered ruby with no bottling or vintage date. Gathering dust on the shelves of Morrell's and Co. so I decided to relieved them of said port for 20$. T stopper.

Dark non transparent purplish red.
nose of Spicy currants and cinnamon. Hot, clears the sinuses distracts from picking out smells.

Burns on the palate, milk chocolate, slight woody licorice. Full bodied and good tannins.

This needs decanting. Tastes like it'd be very pleasant if the alcohol blows off.

Uncle Tom score: 4-7.

I'd put it at 81.

First time I've ever seen one.

This is actually pretty decent now with some of the heat gone.

You can get a nice prunes/purple berries on the palate.

Any time not spend drinking port, is a waste of time.

i agree, many days later and the last of the bottle,

pretty purple fruits. Cinnamon spice, smooth on the palate, a tad rough going down but a very nice port.
