1983 Berry Brothers
Shipped by Warre. Pale red, still plenty of colour but a distinct rose coloured rim. A slightly off-putting nose, with a sharp cedarwood dominating over a lovely floral perfume. The nose comes together nicely over time in the glass. A soft entry with an elegant acidity on the end of the tongue. A lovely light and fruity mid-palate, even if this is a little simple and straightforward. The aftertaste is delicate and floral but rather short. I suspect that this bottle is one that would not have lasted too many more years before starting to decline. This bottle was the best port of the night for 2 of the 5 people sharing it. CG (tasting it blind) guessed Warre '85. 3/2. Drunk 10 April 2008 after 3 hours decanting.
