1994 Quevedo Colheita (bottled 2023)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Q94c, bottled in 2023 in 10cl format for the 2023 advent calendar. Deep ox-blood red, 90% opaque. Remarkably closed on the nose, perhaps a little date and blood orange. A little thickened on the palate, powerful acidity riding over a toffee and molasses core. The acidity resolves to a glorious orange within the sweet molasses. Spicy black peppercorn on the aftertaste, then a long cinder toffee finish. Delicious.  93/100. 02-Jan-24. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
