1985 Fonseca

Deep red colour with a medium rim. A nose of sweet plums blended with an impressive floral perfume. Beautiful on the palate, with generous bramble fruit carrying soft and gentle tannins that swim effortlessly in the flow of the fruit. Long, dark bramble fruit aftertaste and finish. This is lovely young Vintage Port, ready to drink now or to be kept for another few decades. Served blind, guessed to be Sandeman 2000. 91/100. Tasted 28-Dec-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
