Bottled in halves in 2024. A blend of wines of which the youngest wine in the blend is 1937, oldest is 1890. Deep olive brown colour with an olive green rim. Generous nose, wonderful vinagrinho and concentrated balsamic vinegar - incredibly aromatic. Slightly thickened on the palate, powerful dried apple acidity sweetened by honey. The acidity is beautifully balanced in the mouth (167g per litre RS!). The sheer intensity of the acidity really shows on the aftertaste, searingly intense for a brief moment before prune and dried apple settle in for amazing, infinitely long finish. Truly very special. 98/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
