From a case purchased en primeur from La Vigneronne in 1996. Has been in my cellar since delivery.
Decanted at 1830 on evening before 1994 Horizontal on 26/3/24; in decanter for two hours; rebottled and Vac-U-Vined.
Cork in perfect condition. Loads of heavy sediment.
QA sample good.
1994 Taylor
Re: 1994 Taylor
On Tuesday 26th March 2024, at The Boot & flogger, we tasted 1994s.
Re: 1994 Taylor
T94: glorious dark dark red, 75% opaque. Big, closed, huge, and surprisingly dry. Please wait at least five years.
Re: 1994 Taylor
60%? opaque - lighter than the Croft but without the browning. Less obvious fruit on nose than the Croft and very reserved. More fruit on palate but not ready. Good - 5/7 (HM).

Decanted at 18.30, returned to the bottle at 20.30 and vacuvined. Allowed to stand in the glass for 45 minutes before tasting.
A rich velvet red colour, 80% opaque. A little subdued on the nose at first but swirling the wine bought out some lovely redcurrant jelly. Beautifully balanced on the palate with gentle tannins supporting fruit just starting to show signs of maturity. Supple flavours with a bright berry aftertaste and a cedar infused finish. So rich and flavoursome today, yet with so much more promised in the years to come. My joint third wine of the night. 95/100.
