2003 Warre LBV

Post by Rubby »

Bottled 2008. Filtered.

• decant +1:
Very dark red with cherry red rim. There's something bitter on the palette that's not very nice. Some tannins. Cherries and a hint of dark chocolate on the nose. On the palette hardly anything more than cherries and prunes.

The next few hours didn't change anything about this Port.

Not much difference with yesterday. Luckily the bitterness has disappeared. Something of rhubarb has come into the nose. Sadly there's nothing exciting about this Port.

I liked the Warre LBV 2001 much better than this one. It hasn't got enough depth and richness to keep me interested. I'm almost ashamed to say it: a cheap ruby.
