1996 Quinta do Vesuvio
1996 Quinta do Vesuvio
This is the first bottle of Vesuvio I have ever opened from a case that I have purchased. Another virginity lost forever
It is making its way through the coffee filter now. Will report back soon.

A beautiful blackcurrant nose with a hint of spice. Very dark but not quite opaque. Smooth, thick and luxurious in the mouth with dark fruits and a decent amount of tannin. A long lingering finish leaves the cheeks watering and begging for more.
Marvelous port for drinking now or keeping for a decade or two more.

I haven't ventured onto YouTube. Can you smell cheese through it?KillerB wrote:My computer frequently talks and sometimes even sings. Having re-read the above thread it seems this Vesuvio was stronger than the average VP

Deliciously thick and smooth. A big black fruit bomb but quickly turning very dry and tannic. Interesting development as it was softer last night and I would have expected it to go the other way. This is drinking very well now but I'm glad I also have some tucked away for the future.
