Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by RonnieRoots »

These pictures of Quinta do Vesuvio were taken in 2007, when we walked from Quinta de Vargellas to Vesuvio and visited the quinta afterwards. A real recommendation for anyone who likes a good challenge!

The history of Vesuvio is well-documented an I'll leave it to others to add some of that. Suffice to say that since the Symingtons took over in 1989, the quality has improved enormously and it's now one of the best (single quinta) vintage port producers. Only Vintage Port is put on the market, other types are made but kept for personal use, or blended into one of the other Symington brands. The quinta can be visited by invitation only, but it's well worth taking the train there and have a look at the outside.

Any time not spend drinking port, is a waste of time.
