Following the discussion http://theportforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1857

I've committed infanticide and allowed Julian a sample of what a brilliant young port should be.

we had it opened and decanted for 1 hour before quaffing but it lasted for 4 ..

It threw a surprisingly moderate amount of sediment and should be decanted for such.

I smelled a nose of peaches and a beautiful sweet floral component. Someone at the party mentioned roses. It had a incredibly rich body and tons and tons of fruit that would just go on with a lingering 40 seconds finish.

I'd say 8-10. This wine will be a total stunner.

Corrected the time, 40 seconds not minute s=)

Thank you Jeff for opening it (sinner, even if only a half bottle!). Still huge. Quite closed. Lots of, well, lots of everything including black-purple dye, tannin, and fruit (that for me wasn’t peaches perhaps because it was hidden by the pork chops). Will be ready to drink before I die, probably.
