1st bottle from a group purchase by Christopher, AHB, ARK and DRT.
Decanted without filtration off very little sediment.
Decanted 8 Hours
Very dark in the glass. Completely opaque. Tons of fresh fruit on the nose and in the mouth. Thick and chewy - "a beast" says ARK. Very, very dry and tannic. It seems sinful to be drinking this - it's too young.

Re: 1980 Dow vintage port
I had this a couple of nights later at the same venue and very much agree with DRT's comments. It was interesting to compare this to the Delaforce 1985 (the other VP we were drinking), which is now pretty much at maturity. The darkness of a glass of this is impressive, as is the vitality of its flavours. I hope it continues to improve.

Wow, if you think this vintage of Dow tastes young, the '85 Dow is really young tasting then!
