1970 Delaforce Vintage Port

Post by Axel P »

Emergency decanting...

My new cellar is ready and I am moving all my bottles. "Oh - I wasn't aware that this one still existed"...

When I moved the Delaforce 1970 VP I recorgnized, that it was leaking. Well, it is Sunday, I am working, the fire is burning, so why not: filling top shoulder, so I expected the worst, but it is very alive and vital.

Right after decanting: Very golden-red color with a massive concentration. The nose is very soft and fruity (plums), but telling that there will be more to come. On the palate the Port is very complex and totally integrated. Slight nutty aromas which might be a result of the oxydation. Very harmonic.

After 1 hour: Slightly darker than before. Bouquet is much deeper than before. Sweet Spices, Fruit (plums and rasberries), medicinal.

I would rate it a good and solid 18

Sounds like a great vintage! But then you and I know that.
