2003 Quinta de la Rosa single quinta vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled under the Berry Brothers own label. A youthful and opaque red colour. Closed on the nose with little coming out of the glass other than some vague hints of dried sage. Dry in the mouth, fruity but with the tannins holding themselves back. Very restrained but with a strange, green-wood bitterness hidden away amidst the fruit. A very tannic finish, cheek drying and lip tingling but with a very big and long aftertaste. 87/100. Tasted 27/11/08 after 1 hour in the decanter.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
