1963 Hedges and Butler Quinta do Noval, in magnum
Sample 4 of 4 very kindly sent to me by JDAW following the opening of 4 Magnums at the Tiddlywinks Dinner on 7th Feb 2009. Decanted at 1pm on that day. Delivered to me in 60ml bottles, each of which contained a significant amount of fine sediment, on 11th Feb and placed in the fridge at around 7pm where they have remained until around 23:00 on 21 Feb.
D+ 14 days and 10 hours, 10 days and 4 hours of which were spent in the fridge
Some spirit on the nose. This has the weight and flavours of Sample 2 but is not as nice. It is better than Sample 1 and Sample 3.
Thank you, JDAW.
PS: These 4 Magnums were the siblings of the one used for this experiment.

Re: 1963 Butler & Nephew (Noval)
Ahh, thank you for reminding me of this.
#4: in the evening, after a day that could evasively be described as ‟full”: nose has cranberry and much heat. In the mouth little heat; some fruit; tastes very old and faded and with strong acidity.
